The Three Study Programs
Throughout the year, there are many meditation classes, courses, and retreats to choose from at Vajrayana Buddhist Center in Chicago, and at other centers throughout the world.
General Program (GP) classes are open to all, and there is no attendance requirement. These classes are designed to give a clear and practical introduction to Buddhist Meditation. All GP classes have guided meditations and offer Buddha’s wisdom advice for overcoming our problems and increasing our happiness in everyday life.
Foundation Program (FP) is a more structured approach, designed to provide a deeper experience of Buddha's teachings by studying Dharma texts in a thorough and systematic manner. Joining FP is a commitment of at least one full term, and includes a weekly puja commitment and bi-weekly class attendance commitment.
Teacher Training Program (TTP) is designed for those wishing to train as qualified Kadampa Buddhist teachers. Through a combination of systematic study, regular retreat, and teacher training practice, students gain a deep knowledge and experience of Buddha's teachings which they can then share with others.
